The Sutherlin Lions Club was chartered November 22, 1946.  We are part of the sub-district known as 36-E, the multi-district 36 (Oregon) and Lions Club International, the largest and most active service organization in the world. Lions Constitution and Bylaws mandate that all profits from fundraisers be used for charitable purposes. All club administrative costs are borne by club members through their dues and member donations.  Lions’ live by their motto “We Serve”.

Our club, as of 12/31/10, consists of 58 men and women who are living or working in the Sutherlin area and who are committed to serving our community and the Lions.   In October of 2008 we formed the Sutherlin Lions Evening Branch Club.  We are very proud of our Branch club.  They have brought fresh ideas and a spirit of enthusiasm to the Sutherlin Lions.  We look forward to watching their service projects and fundraisers develop.

Lions want everyone to “see a better tomorrow”.  That's why we focus on sight programs and services including vision screenings, eye banks and eyeglass recycling.  Our service activities for people who are deaf or hard of hearing involve hearing screening and recycled hearing aids.  Diabetes is epidemic in the U.S. and Lions encourage diabetes awareness.
